  29.  IV. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
  30.  
  31.      1. Copy the above files to the WordStar 7.0 directory that contains your
  32.         printer drivers.
  33.  
  34.         For the following conditions, You may need to modify the IBM4039P.PDF
  35.         file.
  36.  
  37.         - Change the default printer adapter port from LPT1: (default).
  38.  
  39.         - Request Duplex output from WordStar 7.0.
  40.  
  41.         - Make the IBM 4039 LaserPrinter PostScript driver your default
  42.           printer driver.
  43.  
  44.         To make any of the above changes, proceed with these INSTALLATION
  45.         INSTRUCTIONS.  Otherwise, skip to Part V (SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS).
  46.  
  47.               *********** Modifying the IBM4039P.PDF ************
  48.  
  49.          Note: In the steps that follow use this procedure to select a
  50.                function or menu item.
  51.  
  52.                - Highlight the function  or item by using the cursor keys
  53.  
  54.                - Press Enter to select the highlighted function
  55.  
  56.      1. Change your current path to the path that contains your WordStar 7.0
  57.         programs. At the DOS prompt type WINSTALL and press Enter.
  58.  
  59.      2. From the WINSTALL Menu, select "Modify or install a printer
  60.         (PRCHANGE)".

  66.      3. Select "IBM4039P" (If the PDF is in another directory, type the full
  67.         path and press Enter, then select the PDF).  Reply Y when asked if
  68.         you want to modify the PDF.
  69.  
  70.      4. The PDF Modification Menu appears. If you want to request Duplex
  71.         output from WordStar then select "Modify sheet feeder".  The
  72.         following choices will appear:
  73.  
  74.         - 4039 PS Simplex
  75.         - 4039 PS Duplex Long
  76.         - 4039 PS Duplex Short
  77.  
  78.         Select Simplex if you do not want your documents printed on both
  79.         sides.
  80.  
  81.         Select Duplex Long to print on both sides of the paper, using the
  82.         Longest edge to turn the pages over.
  83.  
  84.         Select Duplex Short to print on both sides of the paper, using the
  85.         shortest edge to turn the pages over.
  86.  
  87.         Highlight your choice and press Enter.  You are returned to the
  88.         PDF Modification Menu.
  89.  
  90.      5. WordStar assumes your printer is connected to the LPT1 port at the
  91.         back of your computer. If your printer is connected to a different
  92.         port, you will need to modify the adapter port by selecting "Change
  93.         printer adapter port".  A list of adapter ports will be displayed.
  94.         Select the appropriate port.  You will be returned to the PDF
  95.         Modification Menu.
  96.  
  97.      6. Select "Return to Installed Printer Menu".
  98.  
  99.      7. At the Installed Printer Menu, press F10 to return to the
  100.         WINSTALL Menu.
  101.  
  102.      8. If you wish to make the IBM 4039 LaserPrinter PostScript Driver your
  103.         default printer driver, then select "Set basic editing defaults".
  104.  
  105.         - At the Set Basic Editing Defaults Menu, select "Default printer".
  106.  
  107.         - At the Choose Default Printer (PDF) Menu, select "IBM4039P". This
  108.           will return you to the Set Basic Editing Defaults Menu.
  109.  
  110.         - Select "Return to WINSTALL Menu".
  111.  
  112.       9. From the WINSTALL Menu, select "Save and return to DOS" to
  113.          save your changes and return to the DOS prompt.  This completes
  114.          the PDF modification process.

  121.   V.  SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
  122.  
  123.       Before you can use a PostScript printer with WordStar 7.0 you must
  124.       have installed PostScript support in WordStar.  If you have not
  125.       previously installed PostScript support, proceed with the following
  126.       steps.  If PostScript support is already installed in WordStar, skip
  127.       to Step 11.
  128.  
  129.       1.  You will need your WordStar diskettes to complete this task.
  130.  
  131.       2.  Make your WordStar 7.0 directory your current directory.  Type
  132.           WINSTALL and press Enter.  The WINSTALL menu will appear.
  133.  
  134.       3.  Using the cursor Up and Down keys, highlight "Add or remove
  135.           feature" and press Enter.  Using the Page Down key, proceed to
  136.           Page 2 of the Add or Remove a Feature screen.
  137.  
  138.       4.  Highlight "Printer Data Files" and press Enter.  The Printer Data
  139.           Options menu will appear.
  140.  
  141.       5.  Highlight "PostScript lasers", press the + key, and then press F10.
  142.  
  143.       6.  You will return to the Add or Remove a Feature screen.  Press F10
  144.           to start PostScript Support installation.
  145.  
  146.       7.  At the "Disk Drive Names" screen, you will be asked to specify the
  147.           disk drive that you will be copying from.  After indicating the
  148.           drive, press F10.
  149.  
  150.       8.  You will be prompted for a WordStar diskette.  Insert the requested
  151.           diskette in the specified drive and press F10.  Repeat this step if
  152.           prompted for additional diskettes.

  154.       9.  When the message "Finished adding features. Remove your disk and
  155.           press F10 to continue." comes up, press F10.
  156.  
  157.      10.  You will return to the WINSTALL screen.  Highlight "Save and return
  158.           to DOS" and press Enter.  The DOS prompt is displayed.
  159.  
  160.      11.  WordStar 7.0 is ready to use in PostScript mode with your IBM 4039
  161.           LaserPrinter.
